Let’s say before anyone emails me. That the easiest way would be to go out and buy a loaf of sourdough bread…
But, that is not the point here.
As a community we are here to learn new recipes, ways to save money and to live more frugally. Baking a loaf of bread is easy.
Does it take time, yes.
Does starting sourdough from scratch take time, yes.
Is it worth it when the house smells of fresh bread and you get to eat that first warm piece, yes.
I am a winter sourdough baker. And I am a gluten free sourdough baker. Sourdough has a distinct sour taste and crunch and it’s worth the time.

Save yourself a ton of cash and start making your sourdough at home. Locally, a loaf is $10 and more if it’s specialty.
Start small. Work your way up to a loaf of bread. Sourdough discard crackers and cinnamon buns are amazing. My boys love sourdough focaccia.
